Sihanoukville, Cambodia. June 2008.
I blame my legs. These non-proportionate stumps that move me around. They loathe when I sit around too much and love it when I push them too hard.
Like the time I nearly collapsed from the shooting pain in my right knee during the 40+ mile trek through the Annapurna Circuit in Nepal. It was the last day of our 4-day hike and I wanted so badly to just sleep for an entire month. Instead, I popped a dozen Ibuprofens and pushed myself until I landed in the van that drove us back to Kathmandu. My knee was mad at me for a while after that, making it difficult to walk up and down flights of stairs for weeks afterwards, but we both know that it was worth it.
Because wanderlust is insatiable, and my legs gobble it up. One in front of the other, marching forward because they know no other way.
Where will they bring me next?

Mui Ne, Vietnam. February 2007.
It’s been two months since I returned from Cambodia. Here is the fotorama of that trip! Siam Reap, Sihanoukville and Phnom Penh!
Horizontals! (And more here.)
I’m aware that these updates are sparse and superficial, but that’s all I have time for.
Just know that I’m wearing a halter top, sans bra, with shorts and it’s one of the best feelings ever. (Only second to when I wear a dress).
I visited the Russian Market today (where aforementioned halter top was purchased) and found my favorite Viet desert there! Here’s the version from Vietnam (I’ll post the Cambo one when I get home):
Amok is this super yummy Cambodian staple with a coconut based curry that’s super delicious! I had tofu amok tonight and can safely say that there needs to be more Cambodian restaurants in Portland, Oregon (are there any Cambo eateries there, Gus?)
I will say, however, that my favorite southeast Azn foodies is still pho, from Vietnam. Nothing beats a steamy bowl of rice noodle soup. I’ll bet my bikes on it.
