The sun pierced through the grey sky and its yellow rays made everything brighter!
I went into town and avoided going to the grocery stores and instead found a new One-Yuan store (like a 99 cent store, but everything is only 13 cents USD), that just opened up across the street from the old Yuan Store.
Today was it's grand opening and I went a-splurgin' and spent five kuai/yuan!
Here's the loot:
-2 toy swords for Gus
-2 cutey headbands for me
-1 double eyelid tape for my Chinkey eyes (I couldn't resist!)
For the uninitiated:
The majority of Asians ain't got the double eyelid (or technically speaking: epicanthal fold, so some of them get surgeries (!!!) where a cut is made on their eyelid so that it'll form a crease and look more wide (white).
But if you're poor or think that cutting your eyelid is pretty lame, you can just get “double eyelid tape” and voila! Instant whitey-eyeballs!
[UPDATE
I notice that lots of you come by this post because you're searching out info on how to cut up your eyeball.
*Sighs*
If that's the case, can I also implore you to read this: Big Bang: Self Hate Crime]

Pingback by Big Bang: Self-Hate Crime « Amy Adoyzie March 1, 2009 @ 12:15 amI actually saw a video about this and was amazed. A Vietnamese friend of barely believed me when I told her people taped their eyelids. Shudder to think that someone would get eye surgery for this reason. Hilarious photo descriptions btw.
Comment by ReGGs July 10, 2009 @ 9:13 amI can’t for the life of me see what’s so wrong about epicanthic folds in the first place, really. Strange that people would go to the length of surgery just to get a bit of a crease. A little sad that people can’t simply be happy with how they were made. :C
